Facilities

The College has established an integrated computing system across the complete school which also includes four computer laboratories (both Macintosh and IBM compatible systems), three science laboratories, a modern library incorporating an information technology learning centre, performing arts centre and gymnasium, two ovals, design technology work areas, basketball courts, careers reference centre and a large kitchen. We also have minibus for student excursions.

Library

The library aims to assist students to develop effective literacy skills and the ability to access information from a local to global nature. Year 7 students undergo a short library Orientation Program. Library staff assist all students to use the library effectively on an individual basis as well as conducting Information skills classes. The reading of quality fiction is promoted. The library is open to Year 11 and 12 students throughout the school day and to all students before and after school and at lunch-time. The library supports classes conducting research projects with a range of both electronic and hard copy resources.

In addition to printed material, the fully computerized library houses audio visual equipment and computers for student use.

Technology

This modern building allows us to offer diverse technical and practical opportunities for students including cabinet making, welding, metal machining, plastics and computer assisted lathe operations. The Foods Technology program is supported by a large kitchen housing a well appointed dining room with access to a kitchen garden.

Fine Arts

This recently refurbished facility provides spacious rooms and specialist areas for students to develop skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, pottery and multi media.

Performing Arts

The recently upgraded Performing Arts Centre is used by our college and other local schools for special events in the performing arts, physical education / sport and for special assemblies and ceremonies. This wonderful resource is fully equipped with stage lighting and sound as well as a kitchen to support all forms of functions. It is used by the school and community for both staff development and seminars. The centre offers a very flexible space to cater for a wide range of performers.

The centre also houses a music classroom as well as computers to support the music programme.

A $1.4million upgrade of the Performing Arts Centre was completed in 2008.

Gymnasium

This modern facility houses a full size basketball court, lecture room / laboratory and a fully equipped weight training room. Our physical education, sport education and sport programmes use the gymnasium during the day and at night and weekends it is fully utilized by the community.

Science

Our upgraded science facility provides 3 fully equipped science labs and generous classroom space with access to our computer network along with live displays- fish, lizards and frogs.
